After doing lots of reading I finally made up my mind and bought a Superchips Flashpaq 3870 (I try keep updating a dedicated review thread) two weeks ago. I had to wait for the update to support my ECU from the guys at Superchips which has arrived last Thursday, just in time to try it out on the long weekend trip. So during packing my car Thursday night I got some spare time to upload the tune file and hell yeah, I immediately found myself in a totally different type of car. So responsive, so much more kick, so much more fun. I had a full loaded car (3 passengers, 100 L chilly bin, heaps of camping gear) during the weekend on Stradbroke Island and even with that extra load it was so much quicker. More down low torque, more top end pressure, the throttle is just perfectly tuned, the gears shift a lot smoother and just at the sweet spots.

Accelerating from 100 to 120 km/h for example will she do now in two eye blinks. Still have all the camping gear in the car during while commuting (work is pretty full on this week so I didn't have time to unpack and just pulled out and cleaned the esky) and already experience a drop of fuel usage to 11.4-12.0 l/100km while not exactly driving in granny mode.

So far so impressive. Will keep you updated.

P.S.:

Interesting.....sounds like these guys at least have their stuff organised enough to get you a correct tune in a reasonable time.
What did the unit set you back?

It took about 5 or 6 days (with a weekend in between), I expected it to be a longer so it was a sweet surprise. I got the flashpaq for 240 AUD on ebay from a guy in indonesia. He had it auctioned a couple of times and I missed out on my first attempt because I was setting my alarm 10 minutes too late (was about 2.30am). So as the auction was ran out I offered him 280 AUD but he refused and restarted his auction and I finally got it for 240.

Rotated the tyres yesterday before booking it in for a wheel balance. Whilst rotating them flicked out a couple of 6 to 7 mm diameter rocks in the treads and now no more vibrations! Would not have picked such small rocks as enough to cause a wheel vibration!
