Default CJ8: Sevens Eight

Gday guys
i think ive inally worked out how to use and post the pics bit..see how i go..

Basically i started out with the plan to rebuild a 78 Cj 7 and through this wonderful site came in contact wit a lot of great people that have given me a heap of knowledge and whats more important the ability to locate and purchase all the parts i need to complete the dream.
First i came in contact with MC 4X4 who i had already sort of known and started buying the parts i needed.. until now the plan has radically changed to the point that the 78 model 7 is now replaced by an 85 Cj8 scrambler.
The vehicle is the one that mc4x4 had shown on here before but minus a few of the parts that he has moved on to other people and pretty much was just the body/roof/roll bar and chassis/suspension setup.
So its an 85 Scrambler c/w factory rollbar/bulkhead and short ute type roof.It runs a mountain offroad reverse shackle/spring over front with slickrock hangers and Old Man Emu Yj springs with spring over rear/slickrocks and O.M.E. Yj rears as well.It has Rancho 9000 shocks with the long travel shock hoop conversion on the front.
Although the truck is sitting on my old inverted 7 diffs in the photos this is only to roll it around the shed whilst i paint it.The front diff is an older Currie 9 inch that will be running a reverse cut high pinion 4:56 centre with warn internal spline hubs and the back is a shortened F100 that came from Iann in QLD that will be running 4:56s and a detroit to start with.I am also in the process of purchasing MC4X4s Ramjet 350 that has already been installed in the truck and has the necessary 130 litre fuel tank and electric pump setup to run it . The engine mounts, radiator exhaust etc were already in the car too. This is backed by a built turbo 400/dana 300 setup that should handle it all o.k. i hope.
Wheels and tyres are Swamper tslsx 36x12.5x15 on satin black 15x10 MT Classic 2s so it should look o.k. when its done.
As far as the exterior the paint is just a single pack epoxy/ antirust type and it is set of by the satin black Warn front bar with highmount and the Warn rear bar with the trye carrier...so it should all come up o.k.

anyway lets see if the pics thing worked???
cheers
steve

Thumbs up

So is it that colour to warn us all to get outta the way or so that we can find you when you get lost?

Sounds like a BIG plan, with all the right ingredients for a Ubeaut rig!

Keep us all posted.

Looking good. The color looks a lot like the new JK at the Sema show.
