XR6 Turbo, bigger injectors & chip & you have near 400kws & mountains of torque, nothing would get near it

Now THAT would be un-jeep-like.

I think I'm too young for an engine like that though lololol

I kinda agree with Ian...

I'm a fan of the BA-BF 4.0L, but by the time you work out adaptors, computers etc... you'd get better results from a LS series V8.

I've driven some crazy turbo'd 4.0L falcoons, and even though they go like stink, I still prefer the simplicity and casual power of a v8.

If it's more power you're after, a 4.7 stroker still works out cheaper than swapping any engine into a Jeep. The power figures on mine are about the same as the ford 4.0L, but I'm making more torque.
I'm averaging about 12-13L per 100k's, because you simply don't need to use as much throttle to do the same job. And it looks stock in the engine bay..........

Power was part of my reasoning, but not all of it. It'd be nice to have uniquely Australian cars, with Australian engineering/manufacturing, without them being so unique that they have no support elsewhere. This sort of engine transplant would allow that to happen. I think that by supporting foreign technology, and moving manufacturing offshore and/or overseas, we're slowly killing Australian industries...

i would prefer a ba engine to a stroker as it would be far more efficient and a heap smoother and probably run cooler than a jeep engine , everything about the ford motor is just better x flow design means you wouldnt have to rap you exhaust around the sump either .
