Rino-lined my front bar. Looks nice, but contrary to what I have heard, it definitely does scratch.

I am looking at the JL. I have read that Wranglers in Australia have had overheating issues in the past so it is a concern for me.

CRD + Auto. First time was a long, high load, low speed hill climb. Then trying to maintain 100kph on dirt roads in 40° heat. Has a new fan hub + poison spyder bonnet vent.

Different motor/trans combos in the JL, would expect them to behave differently.

Have you got a aftermarket trans cooler? The autos need it, the stock setup is junk and if the trans needs to slip a lot which it would have done on the dirt roads, the fluid temps rises very quickly. The heat from the trans fluid radiates into the coolant radiator and intercooler and leads to rising engine temps (if the trans hasn't overheated already). Get a proper auto trans cooler and its all good.

Yeah its on the list before I head up the cape in May. I thought the trans might be the issue.

Decided to bolt on the Falcon skid plate. Took a few big hits in Tassie, decided it's better safe than sorry. Looks like ass but... Ah well.

Also put on a Currie Antirock. Easy install. Haven’t taken it off road yet, but on the road it is a significantly smoother ride. More body roll obviously, but not a big deal.
