Anybody got a picture of the pickups done by a dealership in California that preceeded the Scrambler. Might have been Brian Chuchua. REmember an old photo
of a ute with a scrambler type top and separate tray with exposed guards and narrow tray.

Default Not a Scrambler, but a Gaucho..

In 1977, the Chuchua dealership would convert your CJ7 to a Gaucho for $2000.

Check out: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/ga...2/index15.html

Scroll a fair way down. Interesting mods done by a dealership. Good memory Dave.

Yeah, its not quite buggered yet. Whilst searching last night I also remembered a couple of 4x4 that Con Ferr built in in the States the 70's. Looked like a cross between a cj5 and Cj2a. Surprising what you can find on the internet. Next search will be for a couple of 4x4 prototypes that Freighter Industries built in Australia in the 60's or 70's. The wreck of one was in Just 4x4 or similiar add magazine a few years ago. Stuff like that should be in the Birdwood Museum or similiar.
