I might have thought XJ leaves also. The way they mount off the hanger is better than having to flip a heavy FSJ pack.

The frame number isn't part of the vin.
The VIN is made up of:
1 Country of Origin Code (1)
2 Make code (J)
3 Vehicle Type (4 = MPV)
4 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (E or F)
5 Vehicle Line (Y = Wrangler 4×4))
6 Series/Spec code
7 Body Style (9 = Open body)
8 Engine Code
9 Check Digit
10 Model Year Code
11 Assembly Plant (P = Toledo #2)
12-17 Vehicle Build Sequence Six Digit Number

Leaf Softness, as JB said mounted SOA means they are flatter and than means a smoother ride too (length is only one aspect). But hey if you've got what you've got no harm I was just curious about the "selection" method.

Spring length does count towards soft ride but so does leaf thickness and rate

All for using what you have but The XJ is a little shorter but thinner leaves and lower rate for both flex and comfort at the weight of this and availability I would consider XJ springs or even a FSJ main leaf and XJ hybrid pack

Firmness is determined or effected by:
Length, Number leaves, Thickness of each leaf, Width of leaf pack, Respective lengths of individual leafs, Arch in leaf packs (moreso each individual leaf), metal property, Condition of the leaf pack (bushes, isolation pads, and rust or paint) and shackle length/angle/position.
Off the top of my head......

Engine gearbox fitted ... engine is a rebuilt Cummins 4BT 3.9 litre 4 cylinder and the gearbox is the 4 speed auto (48RE) out of the Dodge 2500. The one with the Cummins 6BT in it.

The auto has been rebuilt to full manual valve body and has electric over drive...... And I think Torque lock up as well.

Transfer is the one out of the TJ , went straight on with a little modification
