I think those Bendix pads will work good on your red Jeep. The double din bezel looks great.

Cheers,

The engine mounts are here .. both the same brand .. the Right made in India and the Left made in Taiwan ... Go Figure?
Run Herbie Run! We took our boy out today .. When He goes out bush there is no stopping him .. here there and every where all those so .. wonderful scents ...... We went to the 4 Mile of the Barcoo river .. had the place to our self it was a great day out running . sniffing . peeing . swimming and rolling in the dirt . and then! .........
He found this wonderful amount of sloppy Cow Shit! and rolled in it! no amount of swims could wash the smell off ... it took a serious bath when we got home it was a great smelling drive home .. with him console surfing his shoulder was close to my Nose ... I am sure when I open the door on the 96 tomorrow it will smell like baked cow shit ... so I am going to have swap Jeeps on the week end .... and give the 96 a Deep Clean!

Well I fired up the 99 today and topped up the transmission it still didn't want any more coolant .. I think I will have to warm it up and then sneak a drive around the block to get the thermostat to open ... the bloody thing runs so cool with the dual core radiator and ZJ fan .. its hard to get it to above 95 deg ..
But that's a good thing ... Yes?
While I had it running I decided to test the Air conditioning .............. WTF! .. It don't work?
The compressor was replaced about 3 yrs ago and was working fine?
Until I got it Back ..... Why Me! what is this Bad Jeep Karma?
Before I fell on the ground kicking . screaming and crying ...
I watched a couple of youtube videos ..
It could be a couple of things ..... low gas pressure from sitting for about 2 yrs or the hi or low pressure switches I was unable to do the tests this afternoon as it RAINED!..!!
I will look at that soon as I only got time to check fuses and swap the relay with the 96 ....
My Mate next door is going to help me and we will do the engine mounts this Saturday .. it has a slight miss which I believe is the fact that number 1 plug cap is loose .... and we all know what a great position that is.
I finally moved it so I can clean the 96 and the area up
In the next day or so I want to get a picture of both on low beam to see the difference between stock and the loom upgrade and bulbs
Getting there

Good pic...the twins together.
Keeping below 95 is a great thing.
I’ve had my scanner on the car, and also the instant fuel economy gauge, and things really settle in and become most economical and smooth at about 83C.

Does the compressor click on and off as you flick it on? I think you will be fine, but may need a leak check and Regis.

My XJ had no aircon for 8 years. I got a mobile guy around and he did a check and a regal and it’s been icy ever since. I did do the compressor bearing in situ as it was noisy. That was a painful job, but doable.

Keep up the good work..

Cheers,

The compressor is new 3 yr old I believe it might be low gas pressure from sitting or the low pressure switch as it is beside the house I cant get to it to test the switch I will wait until the weekend when it comes around the back again to do the engine mounts ...
More on that later.........
Here's the Low Beam Test I did it just on dusk so I could see what I was doing and try and avoid the Ants
Both on low beam it's hard to see in the pic but the 96 has yellow head lights ... and for about $35 off eBay .. loom and bulbs the 99 has white lights
I will be putting the conversion in the 96 ....

I got my battery terminals today, so when it is around the back on the week end for the engine mounts I will redo all the battery wires .. with the wing nut setup it is easier to add accessories in the future ... and do the aircon tests
The fortnightly Barcaldine run tomorrow .. the 96's day out!
And soon the test run of the 99....
I wanted to try the run on premium fuel 98 ... and its bullshit out here 91 is $130.9 and 98 is $151.9 20 cents a litre difference ? there are only 2 servos in town and both have non working 95 pumps .... and the BP got rid of LPG .. 12 months ago!
So I filled the tank with 98 .. is it worth it?
The total trip is about 220k . at 1850rpm 100kph flat ground / cruise control .. the 96 was drinking the 91oct
Curious

I’m a bit spoilt for choice on fuel We also have the fuel watch website that gives daily prices for all fuels from all servos, and even the next days prices.
Today, Ron 91 is 1$1.02, and tomorrow it’s $1.46. I will be filling my 120lt tank tonight.

Cheers,
