As my old caravan gas the batteries under one of the beds, the wife was worried with lithium she might get toasted !!!
I see new regs on new builds have all batteries now externally .
As for the Jeep, i here the guys at Itech tell me the lithium should just drop in and work fine as there new batteries have some sort of thermal cut out but apart from the issues outlined, having it under the drivers seat does not inspire me!!
As for jeep batteries being located inside the cabin area, not sure how that would fly these days ?? One thing it does do is extend the battery life due to lack of heat etc!!

I have been checking temps in my van the last month or so just to see the temps in regard to my lithium and really even though I have a lithium the push for them doesn't really apply here, inside outside, in boot the temps have often been over the 30c and I know that down south where we go the temps in cupboards and boot can be 0c or less, so not ideal for lithium, in the van I can easily shut down charging but not so in a vehicle it will on charge at any time, I wouldn't have a lithium as a cranker battery, even under the seat it would be getting warm not just from ambient but from charging/use, the floor pan gets bluddy hot also if it gets too much load in a crank, jump start etc the BMS will shut down depending on load factors, that can mean all power, it may not allow charging or it may not restart charging as it gets below a threshold so the whole show stops, no thanks..... .............
But do note a LiPo4 battery won't ignite, like an AGM it will get hot, expand split open and be like a volcano spewing out crap but doesn't go Kabloom like other Lithium types......
You don't want to be around an AGM if it has a meltdown so make sure your battery box lid is on properly ...
