Yeah I feel similar, plus I will not buy something that is not supported by a local dealer. Hence why we purchased a Mitsubishi Challenger as our good new 4WD 18 mths ago and relegated the WG to my play toy. Thing is 2 wagons is a bit of a waste so I'm going back to my roots and this time a ute. Deep down I'm still a Patrol boy at heart. The WG just represented the best value available to me at the time. And it's time to step back to simplicity. God I hope the electronics on it don't play up, I'd hate to loose my electric aerial.
As long as it isn't a 3.0l diesel I'm OK with your purchase, particularly from a practicality point of view, utes are much easier to load than wagons. The other good thing about a Pootrol is accessories are cheap and easy to obtain.

On the 3.0l thing they seem to have resolved a lot of their issues but need an EGR blank and a Provent to help reduce problems.

My next truck is looking more like it will be an Iveco Daily twin cab 4x4. A vehicle you can legally run 37" tyres on, plus it has 3 diff locks from the factory.

Nope, wouldn't touch a 3.0l. Had one years ago. Mate offered me his immaculate one when I was tossing up the Jeep but he was getting rid of it for the same reason I just couldn't go there.

This baby is all big block 4.2 dinosaur. Actually drives quite nice, really surprised me.
