As you can see the interior mounts are off the roll bar which allows the rack to be fitted with or without the hard top on.
I'm hoping I'll also be able to use the points as lifting points when making a hoist off the garage roof at a later date !
It been a few weekends in the making and I've had the design drawn up in sketches for years - I guess with the "Tip" calling it was time to build ...
"if you build it, you will go" whispers in my head ..
I had to use the wood drill bit to try and get a clean finish in the roof.
I've got to drop the interior and exterior mounting brackets in to get powder coated - They've just been closed over Christmas/New Years
So it was on to the rack.
At first I was worried that by choosing thin pipe to keep the weight down that it was not going to be strong enough, but it's sure taking me my weight bouncing all over it with no problems now !
