Default Aev diff covers

Hey all,

Anyone use after market diff covers with the 3.5 inch ave lift?

Due to the geo brackets on the front diff. The aev ones look like they might.

Anyone got them on their Jeep?

Cheers
J

Ps yup I’ll call Henry this week as well

I have a lift about that high and run front and rear ARB diff covers.

Only reason I'm commenting is that recently I did a lot of corrugations and some of the rear diff cover bolts came loose. I noticed because of the the oil leak. They must not have been torqued correctly about 7 years ago when I had them installed (the bolts that came loose are very hard to reach due to the rear track bar).

The ARB covers come with a dipstick that has a magnet on the tip. My new mechanic had also thoughtfully scratched a mark at the correct fluid level when he last changed the diff oil.

This meant that 1) I could confirm there wasn't any damage to the gears, by checking the amount of metal filings on the magnet. And 2) I could easily refill the diff after grabbing some new oil.

I have Synergy geometry brackets and there is no issue with the diff covers.

I ended up replacing mine because how it sandwiches between the diff hat and diff. My option was replace it and use a lube locker reusable gasket, or by 2 gaskets and retain the aev unit.

I run a ARB hathttp://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=155090#

I have the Teraflex rear diff cover on my 08 Sport. Paint started flaking off within a month or two and now it has a small bit of surface rust.

I was fobbed off by their social media people, still a bit miffed about that considering I'm running $2000 worth of their product.
