Don't bother with oil nowadays, something to suit in an emergency is always around, though I do carry some LDAS as its not always handy, while I haven't on this jigger but vac seal hoses in a bag and strap under bonnet while the fan belt is stuffed in the spare ............. of course if you want to panic just think about the idler pulleys and adjuster, another thing that can stop you dead in the water but hardly gets a mention, but help is at hand as they are available at Supercheap, probably order in though...

That's possible LeCheese...though i was trying to keep the roof rack free of stuff if possible, the max trax reside on it along with the awning...I have one of those weather proof canvas things that I used previously on the rack of the WH when camping...maybe I'll drag it out...

Yeah, absolutely understand trying to keep it as empty as possible. If you're after efficiency, maybe have a look on Gumtree/Marketplace to try and pickup one of the Thule etc. roof boxes on the cheap. Much better on economy than something less sleek, and pretty well sealed against the elements.

While at first getting an oil level was a drama but its been good for a few years now until recently, have no idea why its now playing up but got out my old WG dip stick that I used for the Tranny, a universal unit, I measure it up against the real one and the top brass collar lines up on the full mark, being thinner than the original it gives a decent reading every time...... my oil level is good ... so mind at rest.
.... WG came with no dip stick just the tube and this sorted that problem out and works well in the WK2 as well ....
