Gave 'Gina' a good look over....under the bonnet....oil was spot on MAX when at temp....power steering is a 'whisker' under FULL mark so wont bother...brake fluid full (awesome...means my pads arent wearing to quickly)....coolant header tank sidewalls look like a Chicken Korma but no 'floaties' and no level drop (awesome)....no obvious leaks, seeps, weeps, snail trails or drops....drained the catch can...usual 20-30ml of 'I saved your engine from drowning'....all lights work....may get the headlight bulbs replaced on this 'adventure'....All Grand Cherokee recommended a bulb upgrade before fitting 'extra lights' of any sort so may give that a go and trial it on the way home....pumped the tyres up to 40psi for highway motoring n fuel efficiency (sorry...not familiar or comfortable with the 'bar' bulls##t)....gave her a tub n polish....removed and gave tge air filter a 'tap out' n clean....no crap so no need to replace....shook the crap off the floor mats for travel comfort...wiped the dog paws off the backseat...bastard got out of the yard n I had to chase him....not a funny sight seeing an old fat man trying to run down a Jack Russell in 'full flight'....jumped in the car n chased him...put him in the back where he was very pleased with the comfort of the plush Leather Interior....asshole...threw a small tool kit in the back.....ready for a 4k roundtrip during which I'll buy filters n oils for a full service when I get back....full fuel tank with DPF Cleaner (Penrite snake oil) added so 900klm should be easily reached....now....the 'adventure' begins....as ALL of us Jeep owners know.....ANYTHING can happen....'Blast off !'.......Truely hope there's no....'Houston...we have a problem'.....try to put smiles on dials...the news sux...enjoy the little things....aint many BIG things on a day to day basis to make us smile or laugh

Good luck with the big trip mate. I'm envious, haven't done a trip since Googs last year, hence why dpf is clogged to shit.
What bulbs did old mate recommend? My headlights are pretty darn good I reckon. Yours has the same HID's from factory?

Yes mate....factory lights......I didnt ask him 'which' inserts he recommended....about $250ish each from what little memory I have....was still in shock from some other prices quoted...as discussed....mine have been shyte on hi beam since purchase....low beam is great...virtually only thing that changes when hi beam is selected is that the blue light illuminates on the dash...yes that is a bit of an exaggeration but I was a fisherman so....can spot satellites n tree tops when hi beam is selected but it certainly isnt a crisp view expanding beam....shyte is an understatement...and yes the auto height adjust works.....they're probably like me...burnt out....no exaggeration

ps: will take a pic n post...they are quite 'dark' in colour...from a bit of reading it leads to the bulbs requiring replacing

Another major saving because I retired, no need to worry about how bright the head lights are, I'm snoring on the couch by dark oclock.................... Have a pleasant run pete, don't stop near Grippy's place though unless you tie the Rottwieler to the bull bar.

You'll likely get some improvement to brightness generally, but overall spread and distance of the light is dictated by the projector lens. A ~20" lightbar will give you more a bunch more light for around the same money. Highly recommend Stedi products - I run the 22" ST4K ($250) and it's basically a mini sun. Arguably will be easier to install than new globes too...

Yes Le Cheese...after you recommended the Stedi light bar a while back I havent found a better option....but,....I got given a small LED Lightbar yesterday....cheap 'no name' boxy looking thing....bloody heavy for its size....I might see how much an Auto Lekky or 4WD jiont want to fit it....in Melbourne atm and the amount and SIZE of the 'ex roo's' this side of the border put the frighteners up me....dont think I'll be drivin through that area from dusk till dawn....was daylight when I came through....BIG GREY BUGGERS....didnt see any while driving through....just the 'evidence' on the side of the road
