Reading back everyone has it pretty well covered, change the plugs regularly, or use platinum/Iridiums. Change the air filter at or before recommended interval. And always use good fuel, and yes I find I get better mileage out of 98.

Coming back from Brissy to Hervey Bay I kept an eye on the overhead screen and when we where going through all the roadworks at 80k's it went down to 12.4. Sitting at 110 it went between 12.9 and 13.1 up and down the hills, once passed Gympie and in 100 zone it sat at 13 till got home.
Used less than half a tank for 294k's and said there was 250 left till empty. So that's about 550 range per tank, obviously better mileage doing around the 80k mark.

Question, if you don't reset the fuel usage option for say 1000k's does it give the average for that distance or just what it's doing at the time of reading?
Thanks.

Average over the distance since last reset. This gives you a more accurate idea on planning for week to week fuel consumption because it includes the idling at lights etc, but gives a pretty harsh reading if you want to know what she uses during a trip.

Ok just had the service with change of plugs and air filter and got a reading of 12.4 from the on board reading over the same trip from Brissy to Hervey Bay.
I am happy with that personally, now just have to change the auto tranny gasket and filter to fix a leak.
