Exclamation WH 3.0D shuddering while driving

Hi guys any help or advice on this is very much appreciated.

Currently camping in Merimbula and panicking. Driving up the hill the car starts shuddering while accelerating. Drove for only another minute before getting to camp site so not enough time to really test if its only while accelerating or at a particular speed. Defintely a hot oil smell from underside of car. No odd sounds while car is idling.
I've been under with a torch and got a dodgy photo below.
There is a lot of oil around the hole circled red.

Can someone identify what part this oily hole is attached to. Is it the diff or transmission box? Is that hole usually uncovered like that?

Looking for any advice or theory so i don't sound like a complete dingus when talking to RACV tomorrow

Will most some better photos in day light.

Pretty sure its a rubber drain hole for rear main or front of auto ! Put some on your finger if red its auto fluid, dirty black engine oil. What year WH, as early NAG 1 autos would shudder if a small amount of water got into them through dipstick
where it fits into auto box.Or when was auto fluid last changed ? 40000 max on these autos.low auto fluid, really a number of things could be causing a shudder!any mechanical noise with the shudder?
