All ive done is drain the master cylinder and put new fluid in it thus far!
I flush the system through the caliper bleed nipples then activate the ABS pump on the local gravel roads by jumping on the brakes about a dozen times between flushes - seems to work ok plus it tests the system

Cheers

I just do a normal bleed from wheels, starting at the furthest bleed point and working back towards the shortest, have a lacky pump brake 3 times and hold foot down on brake while I flip open the nipple for a sec, repeat it a few times, making sure reserviour is kept full, till all is nice and clear then move onto the next one, by the time the back ones done new fluid is usually in the system, never worry about the ABS pump other than never ever letting the reserviour get below half, get air in there and you are in a heap of trouble ..... I Advise lacky death is a certainty if they lift their foot before I tell them to......... handy to have 3 people one to drain, one to pump pedal and one to keep fluid topped up....

Ijust use a large vegemite jar with hole in lid for plastic tubing, add enough brake fluid so tube is submerged and won't suck air if things stuff up, the jar stands up properly and if tipped doesn't spill everywhere, hose down brakes when finished and later give nipples a squirt of Sheep dip ....

Everyone says that, a "just in case scenario" I think, the escape clause..... My WG had the oil brands changed a couple of times, each time like the WK2 3 or 4 lts of the old stuff was still in the box and nothing untowards has happened and thats over 400K kms or so, not to mention other vehicles I have had.... I very much doubt a full flush is possible in these boxes actually unless on the bench, where you have to add oil while on its side before fitting back on the vehicle as the boxes needs to be running to add the rest in so you wouldn't want to run it dry. I wouldn't worry about it myself.....

Been told by a workshop they are happy to use my pan and oil but they won't give a gaurantee in such a case....... understandable really..

Yeah, kinda crazy really. You have companies making compatible oils but stating not to mix oils and then you have the people who make the ZF transmission stating not to fully flush it.
Probably so we keep using their specific ZF oil??
