Those prices for a bit of bent hose are just BS, they would want to be oil/fuel or they will still leak.....

Olmate if its not oil/fuel rated hose it will leak end of story, my drain hose is a bit of old fuel line......

I don't believe that to be entirely true Drover. The grade of hose is more of its permeability and material it is made. Crap hose you may still be able to get a good seal on fittings, but it sweats.

Exactly, the grade of hose is important, oil for oil and coolant for cooalant and while oil line is okay for coolant the opposite is not .............. will work for awhile then the coolant hose degrades, sweats and goes soggy or brittle, either way it fails... used heater hose as a stop gap enough times on sump breathers etc to know...
Tranny hose is the way to go and on these cans with the right size to match fittings I only use zip ties to hold them in place ... on one fitting I was short on tranny hose so used a bit of heater hose I had, took too long to replace and it went soggy as expected, clear plastic goes hard and brittle .....

Also remember if using the wrong hose and it degrades.....crumbly bits may enter the inlet just upstream of the turbo.

I agree. I went down the line that the initial hoses were faulty and that I needed to replace the old set with a new set within the first year. But no joy.

It not the first time thats been said on here about the hoses that come with them either, hope they have used hoses that are of hydraulic quality this time around.............

Mentioned this morning about the hoses to an old spanner mate, he says unless a Transmission/hydraulic hose is used on these sorts of things, they will fail and he put the pressurizing the sump down to dodgy valve sin unit, not needed he reckons and poor hose fitment causing kinking....he also said the right size hose and fittings then zip ties is the way to go............

Hope this lot work better John, also check the 2 valves are working and not jammed in a position, top one should open under pressure which isn't the worry really but the lower one will shut under high vacuum and thats the one that would cause drama if it slips and jams ... I'd pull it out and bin in myself then the opening is clear ..........
