Default Exactly what features can I expect in my WK Trailhawk?

Hi,
I have just purchased my first Jeep It is a 2017 Grand Cherokee WK Trailhawk - MY17
I am having a few issues trying to find reality amongst
  • The Owners 'Operating Manual' where virtually everything is listed as 'If Equipped'
  • The MY17 Buyers Guide (from Jeep Australia) which details exactly what features are, allegedly, included in each model.
  • The physical vehicle
Is there a special 'build' of these vehicles for the export market?
For example my Trailhawk does not have headlight washers (no big deal) but they are listed in the Buyers guide
Also I cant find Daytime Running lights which I do want.

I will have many more questions - like how to stop it 'jittering' and chewing up the grass.
This is my fourth or fifth 4WD the last being a Land Cruiser LC200 - also constant 4WD - but no others have made a mess of simple wet grass.

Look forward to learning from everybody.
Thanks
JC

There is a MOPAR Site you can access that gives your vehicles biuld sheet...some-one will arrive with the Site...you will get a full factory biuld sheet for YOUR vehicle...not a generic biuld sheet

While whats included in your Trailhawk will depend on what package additions were ordered originally, also the Grand Cherokee from 2012 is a WK2, the WK of earlier is a different beast................. Can't help much otherwise with the Trailhawk but our Export WK2's do have equipment levels and engine specs that differ from the Yank versions .....................
The DRL's are a led strip around the edge of the headlights which comes on automatically ...........

First thing I would be dong would be changing all fluids and filters so you know they have been changed and start doing a service on the tranny around the 40K km mark by a tranny shop thats is familiar with ZF boxes .... leaving it to the scheduled time is just asking for trouble later on.

Every WK2 has headlight washers - it is a legal requirement for any vehicle with HID lights. They are the cutouts below your headlights, and come on with every fifth push of the front windscreen washer, or every push of the washer when headlights are turned on. All that info is definitely in the manual.

As drover said, the DRLs are the LED 'halo' around the headlights.

Can't say I've ever had any issues on wet grass.

Yeah....the 'wet grass thing' dont sound good....DRL's are an automatic on job, so may have been disabled ....but.....not sure thats possible in a 2017 model.....Trailhawk owners will be able to 'fill in ' the add on bits....from memory...which aint good....under body bash plates (of some form)....ELSD in the rear....were the things that stick in my mind

Thanks to all.
Drover I will take your advice seeing a service is coming up soon - just have to find and breakin a new service crew. I have been taking my 4WD to a specialist mob for 20 years but they only do Jap models

And I apologise I DO have headlight washers! I was expecting little jets like for windscreen washing. Imagine my surprise when these little things popped open and sprayed. Hard to spot because they are closed up again by the time I jump to the front to see what it is.

Todays test will involve a 2nd driver so I can see and video what the wheels are doing.
Thanks again

The wet grass bit is interesting tyre tread and right foot pressure maybe ???? My Poverty Pack (Laredo) doesn't have headlight washers, has a panel for them though.... I thought I had HiD lamps ?? ............ No washers, no auto adjust so what the heck have I got then, haven't had to get close to look so far........ look the same as others from outside ???

All my Grands have been well behaved rigs, DiY servicing and the odd Tranny Shop when I just didn't have time............ parts bought from the usual parts shops or Rockauto in the USA, if I need work done I do prefer to go to a Workshop that specializes in that field ie; Tranny Shop, brakes etc, keeping away from dealers, too expensive and they are too far away anyway............. Certainly find a proper steering shop for alignments, tyre shops never seem to be able to get it right.

The info on AJOR is usually spot on compared to other places and most importantly relates to Australian rigs and parts, so have a good look around..... also don't take the online oil company recommendations for oil grades, they are usually incorrect, a pet hate for some here....annoying for others...
