Default Lifted with stock shocks

G'day g'day,

I've a 2005 KJ CRD and i'm about to get myself some King's CRDSTU for fronts and OME947 for the back (as well as additional bumpstops)

Will stock shock absorbers work with the lifted springs? or will they overextend and die asap?

I'm going on a short (easy) trip in a fortnight and will prob blow all my remaining $ on bashplates, fridge etc etc. (turbo hoses, tyres etc have killed my wallet LOL)

Or should i just wait and do the lift+OME shocks all at the same time?

Thanks!

Yes, the Rear will be OK, you just won't have any increase in rear articulation thats all. When it comes time to get your new rear shocks go for CRDSTU's extra long travel ones... They are "The Poo I tell you

But, I would recommend you get the OME fronts as they are longer, I have heard of cases with the standard struts popping the tops off (but, that was after a period of time.)

I've never looked at this thread, CRD and all. I'm wondering if STU is the only one to have this mod or if it's only for CRD's (can't see why but thought I'd ask). If so, how much and at what lift height do you see it as being worth it? It's not like I have money to spend but I'm interested to see what this would cost and who has it.

mate it is false economy to fit the springs and then replce struts down the track, as you will have to get the front coil overs apart to replace the struts

do it once and save some coin,

Thanks fellas,

Now i can honestly tell the missus "honey, i'm saving us money by replacing he struts at the same time!".

So, now that i HAVE to get the front struts , are OME HDs the way to go? Any other decent options?

Thanks!

Was wondering if anybody has found a way through the Vicroads vehicle modification "rules" which limit any increase in rolling diameter of tyre to no more than 15 mm and if they have had issues with their insurance coverage due to (lift) modification???
