After searching I've read through a lot of threads with similar issues, but it doesn't seem to apply to me (at least not directly).
In short, for the past 18 months, when I try to start the ol WG I sometimes get a "click" similar to when a starter is dying. Except every time a starter has died on any of my other cars it's rather rapid and gets progressively worse over a period of a few months.. with the WG it's totally random, it will fire up first time 20 times in a row, then when it doesn't it might take between 2 - 20 turns of the key (each time hearing the 'click') until the engine cranks.
It's not the parking sensor/neutral switch or whatever it's called because I've tried out of park and in neutral and the same thing happens.
Anyone with an OBDIII in Perth happy to plug it in and see what the hell is going on? I'm in Cottesloe but obviously happy to drive anywhere and will bring along a 6 pack for your time
