I have a similar problem with my diesel. In the cold I have trouble getting it up to temp. Thinking of a cover over the radiator in the winter. So much for overheating problems.

finnaly investiagated the noise in the front end (big thunks and steering grabbing),
turns out both wheel bearings have a lot of movement
both front uni's in the axles are gone,
inner diff seal is leeking,
front pinnion seal leeking
also leeking out the diff hat
uni's in the front driveshft need to be replaced.

also looked over the rest of the car.
noticed the gear box is leeking,
rear pinnion seal leeking,
rear main seal leeking.
uni in the rear drive shaft has play in it.

so looks like ill have to save some coin and give wooders a call.
this isnt going to be a cheap easy job.

oh well its all fun.

looks like i might have to sell the white jeep sooner than i thought to fix my green one

I'm going to buy one of those thermo swiches from S/c and set it for 95* to turn off the electric fans until she gets some heat into her. Seems to be a fine line between too hot and too cold.

IYRC I already have them on low speed but with the cooler weather, a new radiator and no a/c condensor she appears to be running at 85*.
