Want some advice on TD XJ mods
Hi,
I had a quick search on here and online and couldn't find much specifically around one issue, whereas the rest of the questions are the basic, what should I do to my Jeep.
Just got a bone stock standard XJ TD from another forum member in what appears to be great condition with a lengthy service history.
My plans aren't to go too extreme with the vehicle and I had just planned on some suspension mods, some 31's, a rear bar with swing away tyre carrier and that's probably about it. It's mainly going to be a occasional driver around town with the occasional weekend off road trip.
I just want to know whether 31's on a TD will require a regear. The car isn't exactly a hill climb monster, and adding larger wheels will just make it more sluggish. Am trying to keep the costs down, so if a regear would be necessary, may just stick with the stock wheels. Had a search and couldn't find much on TDs and 31s when it comes to regearing. Plenty of articles on petrol engines needing one and going to TD ratios, but nothing for TDs.
Suspension wise, there is a superflex kit from double black off road near my place for sale for $600 second hand, so was thinking of going that way.
Thoughts on that kit?
Was thinking of finding a SXC second hand rear bar and looking around gumtree for somebody parting out their wheels and hopefully keeping total costs for bits around the 2k mark.
Cheers

I am in Brisbane, but shipping is easy enough.
Is it a SXC one? I really like the look of them.

Been running 31's for years. 2" lift front & back & no problems. Gearing is not an issue even towing a popup camper.
