Default JK REQ Head Unit pinouts

Hi guys - I am currently going through the REQ / UConnect saga. Evidently even if I purchase the Mopar uConnect parts from the states and install in my new JK I still will not be able to get the dealership to enable the vehicle VIN in the CAN bus system with the new handfree code.

So......

I am thinking about just installing my old Nokia CK7 handfree that has worked perfectly for years. I want to know if the REQ head unit supports a mute function in through the back. In my TJ I had to make up a relay control to cut the ACC power to the headunit when the phone rang. Obviously I don't want to do that on this new CAN bus system. So does anyone know if there is a MUTE pin on the back of the head unit. A lot of modern head units have this feature, its just a matter of getting a pin out diagram for the back of the unit.

The head unit in my Jeep id the REQ.

'Others' had problems because 'others' used incorrect part numbers (for the older lower bus speed CANBUS). I have researched the sheet out of this and now have the correct part numbers to do the factory uConnect install as long as I can get a Jeep dealer to update the VIN via the STARScan tool.

So yes, you can get uConnect working on an REQ 09 JK as long as you know what you are doing.

For my 09 JK the requirements are below (or at least this is what I am doing )

Manufacturer Part #: 82211878

See install guide - the dealer has to do the stuff on page 5 of this PDF.
