One thing that you have to factor in when deciding on a roof rack is, do you remove your hard top often.
Types like the MBRP which I use, actually assist in this. I can remove or refit mine in 5 minutes easily due to the roof rack design.
And of course the bonus is, it can carry a substantial weight as it is supported by the body.

That the one advantage of the backbone over AEV or Front Runner easy hardtop removal just connect rope to rack and lift using forklift or rope pulley system

i don't use my soft top and don't take off the roof at all really, but you are correct guys you do need o weigh up if you are going to be doing this often. so whats the best bang for buck roof rack then?
