Re: Welding. Tips, tricks and techniques.
There is some good advice in there, and there is some downright dangerous and stupid welding practices being stated as well. There is no substitute for learing the fundamentals properly.
I think JimmyB said last night that TAFE is the go and I agree.

some of it was on the ball some of it was dangerous thats for sure
they say you cant weld c/moly pipe with a mig well thats not quite correct
you can but it has to be a pulse mig these have special electronics that change the carictheristics of the current durig the weld process
in my time i have seen some welds thatlook good on top but are crap under neath

One day I'll get myself a nice MIG and do a TAFE course to go with it.
Right now, my pissy little arc and making it up as I go along, with some handy hints from anyone who cares to hand 'em out, will do.
