'06 renegade.

Trip Computer stopped working (Twice)

Steering wheel buttons thingy replaced

Trans temp warning whenever i tow uphill..(older ozzie swag camper at 500kgs)!.

Doesnt engage 4WD cleanly.. bumps and grinds for 30mts or so. Trans temp warning on uphill crawls.

POPs out of gear when in 4WD!.(Scary!)..gear lever needs to be cycled into N and back to D as the level itself doesnt pop out of gear.

LBJ inspected, and on waiting list for replacing.

Rear tyre carrier replaced as the number plate woulnt clip down and it made a god-awfull rattle at anything over 80Klm

Paint on roof has an area about 30mm roundish, that has come away in one big chip. I dont use the roof rails at all.

Rattles and squeeks all over inside. Rear glass flipper rattles and squeeks

Icon on radio often wont show the external stacker, but it still works.

I wouldnt say that the aircon is the best ive ever come across either.

2003 - 3.7 Red River, 55K
Changed front rotars at 40K at my cost, including major service at chillingworth WA, $1,500.00, never been or will be going back.

The temp guage has never been over half even under low range in boggy beach sand.

Ball joints under reccall.
Except for vibration in reverse up hill, no other claims or breakdowns.

CRD's seem to have endless dramas......
Luckily when I brougt mine there was only 2.4L five speed manual diesel available which was a bitch to drive.

Regards, Anabolic

Speaking as one who bought a 2003* 2.5L (not 2.4) five speed manual CRD out of choice, I can safely say that the above comment is a load of bovine excrement.

Had problems with the dash displays very soon after delivery, which turned out to be due to the dealer not tightening the battery leads at pre-delivery.

Other than that I've done 68,000km with no problems at all. Still waiting for the LBJs to be replaced on recall - they measured the play and told me I still had a good safety margin.

Was thinking of trading it in for a current 2.8CRD, but after reading this thread maybe I'll just hang on to it.

* It's an April 2002 build and April 2003 compliance - where did it spend the missing year? Only 12km on the clock when I bought it!
