Broken camshaft on 3.6 !!

So, I had the 3.6 tick a while ago and had the head changed..

Last Tuesday on the way to work, massive shakes, CEL & Limp mode light came on.. pulled over straight away and called Jeep Assist..

Diagnosis is a cracked camshaft in the head that was replaced !!..

Dealership say they have not seen it before, but have now found quite a few camshaft failures on the US forums in 3.6's that got the replacement head..

Possibly 4-6 weeks depending on what else has been damaged..

That sucks mate. What year and how many km's has it done? Did they loan you a free Jeep meanwhile?

2012 and 68k km's.. no loan vehicle as all their loaners are used for service customers.. however if it needs a new motor they will request a loaner from FCA

wow, that sucks.....I wonder if it was a fitting issue, or a parts issue. Guess they'll know more when its apart.

FCA pays for it, but you get a base model car with no insurance. It ended up costing me about 400 bucks for 2 weeks of insurance for a basic I30. Jeep kept my car for 6 weeks..
