I've picked up diesel D30 & D35 3.73 XJ diff's for XJ-Tourer to correct the ratio's for the 31's.....Next weeks job to do

Replace the
Radiator
Thermostat and housing
Water pump
Belts and hoses

Only to find the bloody water pump gasket split!! Why is the water pump is such an awkward place!

ARGH!!

well, its not more awkward than other vehicles . Replacing the wp was my first ever job on the xj, in fact my first job ever on any car...

I can recall my t-stat housing gasket was the same. Thin smear of Permatex gasket maker on both mating surfaces and carefully putting the gasket in place seems to have done the job on mine without leaks. Just saying its not per se rendered useless.

Thanks JJ but Greeno should be giving me a hand because I'm next to useless until my gut op next month lol..... It may not be used if I get the 8.8 in time tho I'll swap the chromoly axles in if I do use it & will fit the Lokka into the D30 at the same time.
Life is getting in the road of the CJ/XJ/ZJ/TJ-SIX( better known as "CJ-Frankin Jeep" or "The Goat") atm but the XJ-Tourer needs some lovebefore I can get back into it.

Yeah I know it not any more awkward than other vehicles I was just having a mini rant

I'll be sorting it out on Friday so hopefully will have a functional and non overheating XJ for the long weekend.
