6 litre Duramax weighs in at 1062 lbs or 482kgs, that's a lot of load over the front axle, probably need a Dana 70 in the front to carry the load & a Dana 80 in the rear to withstand the torque, all of a sudden you have a 3 ton TG

I have wet dreams at night about a TJ or JK with at least an LS2 in it.

Only because most V6 petrols, despite their performance, sound like the equivalent of a limp wristed greens party supporting melbourne hipster.

The hemi sounds cool, but that is all it has going for it. Having had a CRD JK I think there's probably too much weight in the front of them and a Hemi would only makes that worse. The V6 JK handles and feels alot better to be in.

Reckon a JK Rubi with the V6 diesel from the WK2 Grand would be an awesome truck.

I've often thought about merging the two....

550nm of tourque to please the power gods.

Hmmmmm.

The dmax/allison in a FSJ would be sweet, in fact a dmax/allison would be sweet in anything (if it would fit)!! That engine in a tourer would be awesome with its power, torque, and fuel economy.

Otherwise a newer LS SUV/truck engine (6.0L and bigger) with VVT and 80LE trans in a 4dr JK.. hmmmmm

Or a 1JZ/2JZ in a XJ.. hmmmm

I went the way of the LS1 Gen 3 with a 4l60E auto in my TJ and its a very nice rig now, makes it a lot easier to drive and use as a DD if I want, fuel is about the same as the I6. as for the conversion the one thing you need before you start is a hoist. I did it without one and never, never again. so get a hoist mush easier.
I got most of the parts from Novac, however I did not go there radiator I got the guys at PWR on the coast to custom make one. Also don't get there fuel pump kit its a pack of shit. happy to talk to any one about it of here pm me if u want to know why. the wiring I got done by a guy called kustom killer kables, did good work and well priced. most of the hard work is in the little things, like making your own brackets, getting cables to fit, running radiator hose, heater hose, power steering hose and all that shit takes a lot of time.
any way my 2 cents worth.
Cheers

The LS Series dont have VVT. Some have DOD (displacement on demand). No cam trickery at all. There is a quadcam VVT version coming around 2018 though.
