Exclamation Engine swap, different year compatabilities?

Tassie Jeeper has returned!!!

Ok so ive finally got the old tj back on the rd, new rodends, trackbars, draglink ,pitman arm, full RE rebuild kit fitted.

Now i need a new motor, my cousin will no longer have the time needed to rebuild my engine but has had a tj turn up at his work and with family rates i can have it for $1400!!

The only thing is im not sure what year it is, he is going to find out for me and i told him id look into the compatability of other years to see if we can retrofit if its different.

So my question is this:
My tj is an 01 im pretty sure the 97-99 are out (dizzy instead of coilpacks) but what about the 03+ models i remember them being slightly different too but will that matter? would it be a straight swap or would it need modification?

I have this page book marked for engine compatibility:

Sounds like you need a 2000-2006 wrangler for engine compatibility.

Yes I matched a 97 motor to my 01 which worked .. I had to change the dizzi to electronic and reset , and the coil
Packs had no brackets so improvised ...
