Default Diesel particulate filter, issues?

I know we diesel owners are supposed to drive to Burke and back at least once a fortnight to keep the dpf burnt clean, and they're expensive if maintenance or replacement is required, but just curious to know if anyone has experienced problems with mostly "normal" daily use (whatever that is). Most of us probably drive a reasonable mix of highway & urban, but still being fairly new to Jeep I'm interested to know if issues are commonplace with dpf's in our vehicles?

I work from home, so I do heaps of 2 minute trips to school and shops, etc. Once in a while I might drive 20 mins into the city or to the coast every couple months. Almost 4 years now, no issues with the dpf. I've seen the message to keep driving for the regen to complete only once in that time.

That's encouraging Benn0. I notice yours is a 2014 so I'm wondering if all model years (eg 2011-2013) have the same regen function, or at least one that's as efficient.

The message comes up under the speedo, it will only come up if the dpf soot level goes over 80% and it hasn't had a chance to regen.

That would be it mate, the dash message is a forced regen. If you're regularly doing a 20 min run at 80 kmh or so, you probably will never see it.
