I grew up 4wding and camping in the Otways and Angahook State Park which is behind Anglesea but I haven't been back there for about 5 years as I live in Queensland so my info could very well be way out of date.
There are many tracks in around Anglesea/Lorne areas but most will be seasonaly closed and some that are MVO tracks now. However there are still tracks around that don't get closed at this time of the year. Namely powerlines tracks of which have steep rutted hillclimbs and yes, some huge bogholes. As it has been very wet down south, there will be a huge amount of water on the tracks. There are a few deep, tea tree red creeks around that area as well as some bad swappy areas that yes have tracks going through them but I would suggest staying away from them as it's black bottomless soil and you will be there forever. Most of the main roads going through the state forest are red clay and super boggy in spots.
Go for an explore, read the lay of the land, take warm clothes/wet weather gear and be prepared for some serious mud. Plenty of camping grounds around the area.
