I must be lucky, I've got play in the arm to the tune of about 2" dead spot on the steering wheel and I don't think it's been leaking.
Replacement in the next couple of weeks

You are talking backlash in steering wheel, not P arm looseness. Your problem may not have anything to do with P arm. Probably more to do with adjustment.
