TJ Proformance
Hi All,
As most of you know by now I’ve got a Auto TJ and it just doesn’t seem to be giving me as much power as when I first got it (couple of months ago). its very stock except for an B-BAR & Winch, but I wouldn’t have thought the extra weight wouldn't have made much difference.
I still haven't got my K&N but I’ve moded an old factory filter "removed the layer of foam off it" and its a little better but its up to 31,000km and I’m wondering if things like spark plugs, and leads could be causing my problems.
It seems to be running a bit slow to get going and it doesn’t seem to rev out as hard as it used to without holding it in gear.
also does everyone’s jeep run in the 100deg rang or is it just mine ?
Thanks,
Qten,

Hey Qten,
Yeah my 97 sits just under 100 C rain, hail or shine.
If your svc manual doesn't reckon it's time for plugs (think it's about every 40k km?) just yet you could try filing and gapping the electrodes and hitting em with a wire brush.
Try some fuel inj cleaner in the tank and clean-r-carb down the throttle body. Maybe a couple of tanks of PULP and heavy right foot to clean the crap out.
If it's plug time go for a new dizzy cap, rotor and leads too.
Don't forget dopey things like tyre pressures too.
Hope this helps...

i suggest a pod style K&n air filter, get a big one tho otherwise you might lessen your air intake and you really want to maximise it.
another temperary way is disconnect the horn off the fronmt of the air flow box, to increase airflow
REMEMBER to put the horn back on or the original box (if you have a pod stykle k&n) back when you got 4wding.
another thing is got for a cat back exhurst system. no need to get a hi-flow cat or anything as they already have em. you can either got a 2.5/2.75 inch or if you got to someone good to get it done you can go 3, but only if you go to someone good cause otherwise you may lose power.
in sydney i suggest HI-TECH MUFFLER, they are a little bit more expensive but they kick arse.
