There's a lot of people on here who aren't true jeep purists, they like the jeep for what it SHOULD BE... they should sell and buy something else

For the rest of us that like the jeep for what it is, we think it's design is perfect.

(PS, i should never have put a 2" lift on it, it's a POS now cause it ain't a real jeep anymore )

There re always going to be people who think the drive train is strong enough and those who think it is piss weak. All comes down to what you expect from it and what you want to do with it. Personally i think the gearbox and transfer case is fine but the front diff is a piece of $hit. Tubes very weak (easy to bend) and axles easy to snap.
If you want it for the road and the easier off road trips then yea it is way strong enough, but if you want to put 35's under it and start doing A grade tracks you will want to start upgrding a lot of things or look elsewhere.

I have looked at getting that done but the people i went to didnt want to touch it because of the cast housing. By strengthening the tubes you are going to transfer the weak spot to the housing which will just crack instead of bending.

The Heep's a great toy - it's just not a truck.
When I next move up to the NT or outback somewhere, I'll get a truck again. For now a weekend toy is more fun - thus, the Heep.

Can't beat the combo of the bikini, the rear deck, big lift, big tyres, big aerials...

Ive never had any complaints with the 4 jeeps ive owned since 1976.
Sure there not built like overweight tanks, they were made with a good power to weight ratio that will leave toyotas for dead off road.
Ive driven my tj around Aust towing a van.
Ive driven to the cape without any trouble.
Ive owned Toyotas but theyre nowhere near the feeling of a Jeep.
They are light, strong and balanced and when they hit sand and mud they dont tend to sink like overweight slugs.
