Stretcher
I was thinking of buying thoses stretcher's with the tent build on top, like a comfortable swag thats off the ground, place it under your car awning and you should be good even in heavy rain.

I agree if you are base camping.
if its an ongoing trip through difficult terrain, maybe a different story.
I saw one many years ago that had legs that folded down & you could drive the car out from under it.

Missus and I had a gutful of tenting and fold away trailers so we imported a used caravan from UK. Needs a bit of work to make it legal but we've saved about $10K. Pm me if you want any details.

hey guys!
after talking to people in my area, re: roof top tent vs camper trailer.
the idea that i liked, is pull up at a camp gorund set ur trailer up and off you can go for a drive to the pub / down the beach, to a restarunt or see friends. roof top tent. kinda bit more difficult to do... (i'm terrified of towing a camper trailer though and getting to a steep as hill and having to go backwards down it... with a trailer (terrifying) but otherwise i'd like to do that..
me and the Mrs only young 24-22. with a 6 month old. were talking camper trailers already i don't think that it's an OLD vs YOUNG option. i think it's ease and comfort whilst you camp hahaha..
can i get some opinions on AWNINGS? please? i'm really arguing with my self are they worth it? are they as easy to setup as the TV makes them out to be, do they provide enough shelter to actually make this thing a decent buy? could i get some opinions on these items??

I lurve my camper trailer. You're up high so you're warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm. My mate takes his 'tentcot' to our offroad bike comps and although it's much quicker to setup and take down he doesn't sleep as well as i do up in the camper.
I luv my full size drifta kitchen, my home made LED lights, and all my gadgets. The weekend just gone while camping at an offroad bike comp up at maleny each evening we wandered down the creek with my night vision scope and spotted big catfish, 1.5m eels and PLATYPUS! A night vision scope is excellent for spotting wildlife at night while camping...
cheers

i am getting good reports from a bloke who uses a clarke camping hammock.
warm, wind/blizzard/storm proof, sets up in seconds, can be used on ground if no trees, or string up beetween 2 vehicles if in simmo. he reckons best nights sleep while camping ever. he has even put it up at home when he couldn't sleep on his own bed!
