yup, theres a small part in the barrel that normally fails over time as it's a cast piece, one of the forks has broken off and probably become wedged in the slot, be careful not to force it to much as you can damage other parts.

Let me know if you need one as we stock this item.

The best solution for locks to avoid further damage is a good locksmith - this will get the problem fixed and guaranteed!
If you can get another lock the locksmith will be able to swap the keys over to the replacement and this may be better in the long run due to damage in the lock itself (bent and broken parts, etc).
You will need to remove the lock mech or barrel (if it is jammed this may not be possible) and give it over.
Be careful not to break the key off while forcing it to turn.

If your key slips into the barrel but simply binds than a new key is not required, is it that your barrel is stuck, or hard to turn?
