Thanks Roler. That's a good link. I did check the continuity between pins in all selector positions after rebuilding my NSS to ensure it was a good repair prior to buttoning it up against the 'box. I may have found the problem but am doing some more testing. In the meantime I have the wire from the ignition at the solenoid to touch on the battery if I need to.

Yes I know, I should have left things alone, but I was checking as to why my rear interior light was not working, so I had the hood up and checking the fuses, Now the car will not start. I turn the key and I can hear a click under the bonnet. All the fusses look ok to me. I have a multi meter but do not like to play with electrics. Where should I start to look...

Most likely could be one or both of two things, the NSS is dirty or the SM has burnt out the contacts, or if your lucky they are just oiled up and haven't burnt out yet. If you have never cleaned the NSS that would be a good place to start as it will fail eventually anyway if it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Same goes with the SM pull it out and wash out the oil if there has been a leaking oil filter adapter at any point.

Regards A

Start with the things you have touched making sure all the fuses have continuity (not just look OK) then reseat the starter relay in it's socket. You may have bumped it.

Did you plug all the relays and fuses back in the original places?
You should be able to match the locations on the lid of the PDC....

I did plug everything back from where they came from, I do think that I heard a click, like something blew. Hmmmm

I have to ask, what is a NSS and where would I find mine?
Or a SM, Do I have one?
Cheers guys, I appreciate all the help I get on here.

NSS - neutral start switch attached to the side of the gearbox. Search will reveal lots of information. SM - Starter motor. You have one.
