One is Bosch 0445110203 and the other 0445110189. They're the same seller. I contacted them with the number off my existing injectors and they referred me to the 0445110203. This was corroborated by another injector specialist I contacted. Apparently the two injectors are not quite the same, but nobody can tell me exactly how they differ. I *suspect* it's in the nozzle shape/size. The trap is that they are dimensionally interchangeable.

On the Mercedes forums, they mention there are slight variations of Injector part numbers based on the level of coding required and nozzle type.

I would think for 5-10 mins that would be a reasonable amount of leak back.

The right one for the 2.7 CRD WG is 0445110203 or 0445110097. The 0445110189 is not the right one. It's for Sprinters, Vito's or the 2.8 Cherokee.
The 0445110203 replaced 0445110204 which is what I have now. I'm not sure where the 0445110097 fits the picture - perhaps older WG's?

#4 was enough to make it surge after idling a bit and to feel exhaust pulses.
But it is quite a bit more difference from #4 to 2, 3 and 5 than it is between any of your injectors.

I'm booked for a professional diagnosis next week. Tempted as I was to buy a Chinese knock-off DRB tool, I figured having an expert opinion would be worth it before I spend thousands on injectors.
