Default Insurance question and Upgrades

Typical. Christmas Eve and some utter numpty reverses into my JKU at the petrol bowser –**result is one very crushed front bumper on the passengers side... Usually I'd do my nut over something like this, but every cloud has a silver lining –**I want to fit an AEV bumper and this could well have come at an opportune moment!

Does anyone know (I could of course talk to my insurer...) if you can get the repair work done at an aftermarket shop (as opposed to Dealer) and pay the excess to upgrade from stock???

Cheers in advance

Just go to any repairer and explain what you want to do... they should be able to facilitate it.

Insurance company shouldn't care that don't want to replace it with something different, as long as they are only paying the cost of the original parts that were damaged.
