Had to go right through the A pillar after the Thai mechanic proved he didn't understand the concept of a nutsert and made a huge mess of it so to clean it up and make it work myself I went right through the A-pillar into the cabin with a longer bolt and a nut, then silicon on the outside in a hope to prevent water entering or causing rust.

Hopefully you mean sikaflex and not silicon. Depending on the type of silicon you used, if you did use silicon, you could actually cause it to rust. The black sikaflex is your safest option

Yeah I did, too used to calling it silicon here because thats what they call it.

Small job finally done today, adjusted the kick down cable for the trans, now it actually shifts when it should, only been 3 mths of bad shifts for a 20 second job, pure laziness haha
