I would think using the cam sensor is only a redundancy measure for safety. I still assume you would have a engine check light and would need to have the tone wheel crankshaft sensor replaced.

Yep, the software update is to get you home rather than stuck on roadside unable to start engine. I sure hope FCA will then fix the tone wheel issue free of charge.

what worries me is when i check my late 2013 my 14 gc diesel vin its not on the
list.
Seems none of the late 2013 cars are on the list even though the same engine
Does that mean that they used a different tone wheel supplier or are they just being slack about dates?

The parts are made in different batches/orders and probably different manufacturers, engines from Italy............... If the tone wheel or fly wheel is made as part of the gearbox set up then it could be batch thing as Chrysler started making the ZF 8HP70 box in the USA and not importing, something I'm not sure of when..... gets pretty muddy when you look into the history.

I just looked up my VIN (2015 diesel limited) on the Jeep Australia website and it didnt return a result, however on the US Mopar site it says w58 recall incomplete.

I wonder how many others are in the same boat?? Obviously I havent been contacted by the company yet, hopefully mine is not affected

My letter arrived on Wednesday but I had already got the job done 2 weeks ago so pinned my docket to it and stuck it in the book................. If searching the pdf for your vin I used the search feature as the mark one eyeball wasn't good enough....

I reckon if in doubt email your dealer of choice provide rego and vin and see what they reply, tell 'em your on the road or something so no mail, will then get a hard copy reply.
