The local blown TJ from WA has the fastback softtop and cage with yellow decals on black paint with 'Rebel' on it.

WA being Western Australia not Washington

I feel for you guys too. We only made it to stage 2 when out TJ's fan clutch went south and had to return to the top blokes at Silver City 4wd to get it solid bolted...and about 4pds of mud blown out of the alternator !

...3 years later and some comps later it's still solid bolted ! ...a job for one day.....

I think I noticed the "WA" after I replied. What year were you in the competition? There was so much going on when we were there I lost track of much of the action. Kinda got lost in our own problems. Then, you get put into a group of 10 or so, and after that, it is hard to keep track of what else was going on.

2002 was a bust for us after breaking the T-case, but 2003, we completed the whole 6 days without a repair of anything. One slow leaker in a tire, and when we got home discovered that we had blown a hub but didn't know it at the time, and I might well have broken the hub driving out from Deneen in the mud and rain.

Perhaps it is just my perspective, but NSW has got some of the most awesome terrain anywhere, and the folks in Broken Hill are tops. Far better than most of the U.S. for attitude. Aussie offroad rocks, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
