Default Sand Flag

hi, i was goin to have a go at making a sand flag for beach driving. i have some orange 25mm pvc for the pole and ill just put a bit of hivis material for the flag.
i was thinking of siliconeing a bit of 10mm threaded rod in the pvc for added strength, and ill also leave it hanging out 50mm out the bottom to make a solid and easy mounting point, it can just bolt into a bullbar mount
has an1 made a sand flage before?? an tips?? is there a better product than silicone to hold the rod to the pvc??
thx
jack

Jack don't waste your time with electrical conduit as it's too heavy & thick it wont stand up in the wind when driving then when you go under a tree it breaks too easy. (Seen many try it)
Look for some fibreglass rod or just buy a commericial one which will be far easier to transport.

Don't be fooled about the price. They are darn expensive for what they are. I got one recently for a Stockton trip and paid about 140 bucks. I guess it depends how much your going to use it. I saw many surf rods with a flag on the end cable tied to their bull bar.

My dad made 1 using a cheap ($25) UHF antenna for the pole that works quite well.
