The hard part was the bracket behind the bar...Had it on for 6 years and sold it separately after returning the Commander to stock before selling it..Did toy with the idea of adapting it for the WK2 but regretably didn't so now looking at the one from Formula Offroad.

That gets my vote. Doesn't help with departure angle, but if u have a towbar I'm not sure it will get any better.

Could/would a towbar be integrated into the bar design dave (similar to ARB and the like)?

That would, potentially, allow an increase ground clearance/exit angle.
