Default Anyone replaced a CJ Chassis.Diff's/suspension with TJ Gear?

Ive finally had conditional approval to swap a CJ chassis with a complete TJ Setup. Coil springs, diff's etc PLUS where i had requested using a 350chev (because i have one) they rejected it on grounds of emissions and told me to use a LS1 instead (i have a spare one too).

Car was a 78 CJ7 renegade, Dash, guards, grill etc will be CJ but no more leaf springs.

Anyone done a similar thing?

I don't think it will be too hard Voo Doo. Marsbar put a TJ body on a CJ6.
Your engine will need to have emission at a standard same or newer than the chassis.
Your LS1 will require to meet the standard for the year of the engine or chassis. Which ever is newest.

How does a TJ fit a CJ6 which is 200mm longer than the TJ /CJ Chassis.

Hi VooDoo, yeah I must catch up again mate.

Yeah its all about the tub lengths, the TJ tub is 10" shorter than the CJ6 (10" longer than a CJ5 & same length as a CJ7) so gotta stretch it between the rear wheel arch & door frame to use on the 6. But for what your talking about I'd still use the TJ tub & use the CJ front. I re paneled the windscreen & cowl (check my photo album) to give the correct profile for the CJ front & windscreen.
It's easier to do if you use the AMC long nose cos the Kaiser short nose looks like crap & the wheelbase is to short. The wheelbase is only 1/2" different CJ7=93.5"/TJ=94" so shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers,

AL

PS, you can use the TJ heater box & tweak to CJ cables'n'knobs.

Going to have to meet tj compliance collapsible column air bags so I would get an early tj so you can still run no doors
