XP has a number of year of support from microsoft left as it is still preferred for enterprise solutions and really there's nothing wrong with it for home use either.

try again but download and install this first:

http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight...s-silverlight/

It should improve your chances of compatibility.

I prefer XP coz its not rocket science to get around........Was given a laptop with Windows7 & I'm having fun getting used to it, so stick with XP as long as you can.

kj69 & yom, hope you guys had a good Xmas & I wish you a happy, prosperous New Year

If you interested, Patchy & I are going for a wheel up GHM's Wednesday arvo for a play...I ran a club night run up there on friday & James had blown a front diff on 'Big Red' & it took us hours to get him off (greeno screwed his back springs also)

Cheers, AL

I go back to work tomorrow I'd like a night run at some stage in the future though!

Windows 8 comes out later this year. Will be exciting as it is the first microsoft OS which will have the same kernal for mobile devices and desktop PCs. I have no doubt it will have bugs if its anything like Win 7 then good things will come of it. In saying that Win 7 still has a few nasty bugs but no more than win XP in its first few years i guess.

Cannot have forward development without making a few mistakes!!
