Default Aftermarket HID bulb

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had their HID globes start to fail? One of mine has been working intermittently lately and the dealer said it’s just at the end of life and a new mopar one is $420!!

I’ve found an OSRAM branded one on gumtree for $35 but there is a huge price discrepancy and am wondering why.

Does anyone have any advice or know of a good brand or supplier?

Thanks

Ben

I looked at RockAuto. The Mopar ones are $162 US, Phillips $73 US and Wagner (?) $40 US.

If the Osram one is genuine and fits and you can get two, I’d give it a go. Not sure how they would look with one of each.

It looks like you can get normal halogens too so you could go that way if you wish.

10X or more difference is about right for genuine v/s after market parts.

Ben watch for fakes. I bought a set of Philips HIDs and they definitely were not genuine items. The seller took them back... it was just a PITA time-wasting.

That said, use whatever you want. The likelihood of incompatibility is minuscule to non-existent.

Cheers, Steve

I got mine from powerbulbs. Genuine osram.
Don't be sucked in by the really cheap ones - they aren't legit.

It can be a bit of a pain to replace. I was having a hard time, so ended up removing the entire front end.
My hands couldn't fit in the small access areas.
