Something else I just thought of, I don't know if the Ranger did it as well but the Wranglers with a windscreen light bar tend to whistle in the wind.
It's an easy fix, go to Clark Rubber and buy some pinch weld. Place this along the edge of the lowest of the cooling fins you can and it will pretty much eliminate it.
You may get some noise in certain directions when it's really windy but it's not very often.
As mentioned, with the brackets you are going to use, pack the space between the end of the light bar and the bracket fork with washers.
You don't want the light bar mounting bolts pulling the bracket in as it will strip the thread eventually. To help with this, once you have the light bar in the position you want, use Loctite Stud Lock glue 243 or 263 so it holds in place.
