Default Build Sheets from Jeep

My 1st post here so I will start by saying hello and it's great to see an Australian Jeep community online. I look forward to sharing my limited knowledge and learning from other Jeep owners.

I saw in a sticky thread above that obtaining build sheets from Jeep.com is the tried and true method but when I sent them an email with my VIN number and asked for one they said they couldn't give me one and that Chrysler-Jeep Australia would be able to give me one.

So I sent an email to Jeep Australia and got a response that "build sheets are never given out, go away, have a nice day" (that isn't exactly what they said but is pretty much what they meant).

Has anyone here been successful in getting a build sheet for their Jeep from either Australia or the US? My Jeep is a Grand Cherokee which means it was built in Austria, don't know if that makes any difference.

When I was a youngster I had a boss who owned a Grand Wagoneer, we pulled out the carpet one day and there was a build sheet stuck to the floor.

I got a build sheet about 12 months ago for my TJ via jeep.com. They may have changed their procedures though...
What I was sent really wasn't all that helpful though....

Jeep has plants in the USA and Canada, Mexico, Austria, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Venezuela, Argentina and Egypt. But I have never heard of any Jeeps assembled in Thailand coming to Australia (I could be wrong though).

Grand Cherokees for the Australian market are built in Steyr, Austria. Don't know about other models.

You can enter your VIN number into the amazing Jeep VIN decoder and get info on where your Jeep was built.

I've run that check before, and it tells me that my Jeep is from Toledo. The dealer seems to think that it was delivered to Thailand, and then privately shipped here.

I dont care really, I had my warranty work sorted out by a different dealer, and I will never be getting any servicing done from them in the future.
